Is it Time to Change Your Batteries?

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms are a very effective way to help protect your family and property, but you must help them do their job by checking and changing their batteries. At a minimum, change the batteries in your alarms once a year. An excellent way to remember this is when you change your clocks for daylight savings time, then change your batteries too! Remember, even alarms that are hard-wired to your home's electrical system have a battery-backup which also needs to be changed.

It is also very important to test your alarms in between battery changes to make sure they are functioning properly. Test all of your alarms using their test feature at least once a month, or as recommended by their manufacturer.
