On the evening of
October 10, 2004, the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company was
honored to host the Hartford County Emergency Plan's 54th Annual
Memorial Service to remember and honor deceased firefighters.
The procession started from the Main Station, and advanced up
Hopmeadow Street to St. Mary's Church for the service.
Afterwards, attendees were invited next door to enjoy a pasta
dinner provided by the Simsbury Ladies Auxiliary at St. Mary's
School.

Honor guard from the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company The Connecticut Statewide Honor Guard approaches St. Mary's Church. Flanked by both honor guards, senior officers from Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company lead the participants into the church. After leading the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance, Departmental Chief Michael Juda addresses the attendees. Chaplain Steven Behrens from Simsbury reads the Roll Call of Honor. Simsbury firefighter Todd Kelley tolls the bell for each name read aloud from the roll. Officers from Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company listen to the Roll Call of Honor. Afterwards, Chief James Baldis, Reverend John McHugh, Ph.D., Lieutenant Gary Wilcox and Firefighter Ken Boudreau socialize after the ceremony. Guests enjoy dinner provided by the Simsbury Ladies Auxiliary.
