The Tariffville Village Association formed in 2004 for the purpose of educating the public about the village's history and unique natural features, and to promote recreational and economic development through grassroots efforts and fundraising. On September 23rd the 4th Annual Tariffville Village Festival was held on the Tariffville Green on Main Street to celebrate the many things the community has to offer. Part of the celebration honored what some in the community have offered through the years.

Formed in 1939, the Tariffville Volunteer Fire Company protected the citizens and Village of Tariffville until it elected to merge with the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company in 1983. This year the Tariffville Village Association honored all the firefighters from the village who have protected the community over the years and recognized eight firefighters who have served for twenty years of more.

Present to accept the award was Simsbury Firefighters Walter Banzhaf, Retired Firefighter Wayne Hoffman and Firefighter Mike Brown who accepted on behalf of his father Retired Firefighter Richard Brown. The group was presented with a plaque to be hung at the Tariffville Station and each firefighter was given and individual certificate, both of which read:
