The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident with extrications needed at Hopmeadow Street and Westwood Drive on August 10, 2005. Two hose lines were deployed to protect each vehicle in case of a fire, and crews from Rescue 14 and Rescue 15 went to work to free the trapped occupants. All victims were quickly removed and transported to local hospitals by the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association.
