A 2002 KME body
with five person cab mounted on an International chassis. Engine
3 was designed for a dual purpose; as a spare Class A pumper for
the fleet, and to be a heavy brush truck. Being a Class A
pumper, Engine 3 carries a standard load-out of supply, attack
and hard-suction hoses, and ground ladders, and is equipped with
typical engine company tools.
Engine 3 features
a 1,250 GPM, single-stage, front-mounted pump, and all-wheel
drive, both of which assist in accessing a water source when drafting
in off-road situations. This apparatus also has pump-and-roll
capability, a feature that allows the engine to power both the
drive train and pump simultaneously, for when the situation
calls for a mobile hose line.
This apparatus
carries 500 gallons of water and 25 gallons of Class B foam
concentrate. Brush fire equipment includes forestry hand tools,
a portable floating pump, chainsaw, collapsible Indian cans, and
backpacks with forestry hose.
