A 14' rescue-style,
walk-in body by Emergency Vehicles, Inc. mounted on a 2006 Ford F550
Super Duty 4x4 chassis.
This apparatus was designed to perform multiple functions such
as serving as a command and communications center during major incidents and
fire investigations. To support these operations the vehicle is
equipped with a radio array that covers a wide spectrum of
frequencies to facilitate multi-jurisdictional communications,
the ability to accept and distribute a temporary, hard-wired
telephone service, air conditioning, a refrigerator and a 13'
roll-out awning.
Special Operations
17 is
equipped to provide scene lighting via its Will-Burt RCP 360°
rotating telescopic tower capable of providing 6000w of
lighting, two mounted, portable 1500w halogen lights, and other
portable lighting devices, all of which are powered by a 12kw
Westerbeke, water-cooled diesel generator. Compartment space
allows for the transportation of various other equipment
including 30 spare SCBA air bottles.
Interior workstation complete with radio array, TV monitor for receiving local broadcasts and viewing monitor for mast-mounted scene camera. Multi-personnel work and planning area complete with TV/VCR and refrigerator. Exterior workstation with radio array, telephone jacks and lighting. Will-Burt Night Scan Vertical Dual Tilt RCP light tower capable of producing 6000w, and a manually deployed antenna for receiving local broadcasts. Control module for Will-Burt telescopic lighting mast. Scene camera attached to Will-Burt telescopic light mast. TV monitor and scene camera monitor at interior workstation. One of two SCBA air bottle compartments.
